Will take look at the issue, but it won’t happened anytime soon. Not this week at least.
Something like this:
The trouble is that it is not similar to text alignment at all. Actually it is not changing the layout of the text at all, but only moved the text block around the x and y.
Which is why it moves to the right when selecting Left, because it is moving the text block relative to the x and y, so the left side of text block is aligned with the x and y.
Take a look at this gif:
So maybe a series of icons with a text element moving around a point?

Ah, so it’s now an origin and not an alignment. Would it not be better if it actually aligns the text as well? I think it would be nice to be able to make a center-aligned text in the sequencer
This could work for the current implementation:
Nice. I just happened to browse by and would have suggested this:
(Works better with 2-tone colored icons, though.)
Maybe if you center the long lines it would be more clear that the point is fixed and the text is moving?
Maybe this could be misread as if that these positions are presets on the screen:
Sure. Wish you could cram an anchor symbol into such a small icon as these:
With some slight improvements, it could work IMHO:
Could you post this suggestion here? https://developer.blender.org/T71082
On the “Run Script” icons, maybe it will be quicker settled if you guys post your best suggestions here: https://developer.blender.org/D5686
Oh, I completely missed this new one @jendrzych It’s really beautiful!
It looks like that thanks to @billrey - he drilled until he convinced me that it will work.
I’m also loving the butterfly. Easier to find and just as telling.
That is tremendously better than the current mirror icon.
(For reference:)
More Run Script doodles:
One day we’ll get there finally…
I like the smaler document with the bigger play icon. Adding ‘script’ lines on the document can also help put more emphasis on the play icon.
Hmmm that looks a bit like the corner is folded back onto the sheet, at least I didn’t immediately identify it as the play icon. I think that’s because it coincides precisely with the sheet’s edges.
