I’ve stumbled on this, and didn’t realize it’s a serious issue in render workflow.
I looked around for previous posts, but couldn’t really fins something similar.
So if I turn off visibility for a object, it will not show up anymore in the 3D viewport display, even in a Cycles viewport render.
But this goes against anything you set in the Outliner regarding viewport/rendering flags.
So in the Cycles Viewport Render I cannot see my hidden object, but if I render a frame, the object is (obviously) back in the view.
Not sure why this is, - by design or a bug - , but it’s rather annoying.
Especially on larger scenes, all off a sudden objects appear in rendered frames that shouldn’t be there, because the artist turned off visibility for something, did a Viewport Cycles render and send stuff off to the farm. So more or less being bamboozled by the incorrect rendered viewport result.
The result is wasted time and disk space
So… By design or bug? In both cases, is there a way to change this?
