Use VECTOR files as texture maps for nodes in blender

Import vector images to create textures, normals, etc for blender instead of using raster files.
This would crazily smooth things and make it unnecesary to create crazy complex node maps for the same purpose.

it’s a great idea, I’m also looking forward this kinds of feature.

While it would definitely be a nice thing to have, it is very much nontrivial to implement.
GPU’s are very much geared towards working with raster data.

You’d need a specialized shader to interpret vector image data on the gpu. Or you’d need some system to just-in-time convert vector data to raster data at a to-be-determined high enough resolution.

So unless you have some good ideas of how to implement this yourself, I wouldn’t hold my breath for it.
