Update this old version of Parallax?

around 4 years ago this post was made on parallax occlusion and it’s by far the best version I’ve seen so far. But the file hasn’t been updated in years. Can someone figure out how to update this to work in 4.0+ preferably 4.2

Parallax Occlusion Mapping

There has been interest in supporting parallax occlusion mapping (POM) in Blender for some time. Also, there are two separate versions one with the depth offset node but the parallax isn’t there? and the opposite. Trying to figure out if I can implement the depth offset node into the newer version as well.
