Since everyone was sharing their selfmade icons I’ll do the same - IMO current Blender icon on white background will work just fine. I’ve seen a lot of similar icons, so I believe next update of Blender should get something like this - nothing too fancy, just Blender icon on white background. In case you also think this way - it’s available to download here.
Both versions (from @Ferbez and @TheFynn ) look a bit off-center to me.
They might be technically be centered but optically they are not.
How about this?
your flat version also works, I would be fine with that, the reason I went with a gradient Background and slightly tinted shadow, is the neumorphic icon style in macOS. But I think that’s mainly personal preference
Thanks for the contribution everyone. I’ll coordinate this and get the icon updated for Blender 4.0. Let’s wrap this discussion now.
Designed my first .icns file and decided to do something a little fun. Once approved it should be available on macosicons.com to download and use as you like. I’ve used it frequently but I’ve never upload to that icon database so I don’t know how long it takes to become available.
Fell free to make it the official Blender Mac icon. J/K
