More point-cloud shading options?


the new point-cloud object type is amazing,but i’m not sure what’s he point of having a uniformly colored smooth-shaded octagon billboard?

How about a more classic approach such as drawing the classic and simple flat shaded optimized billboard with per points color attributes? With of course the options of to choose between displaying circles/squares, change size of billboards, change billboards size from user distance, etc…

this would enable us to import real world data with python, this could be really powerful,
so again, I’m not sure what’s the point of having uniformly colored smooth-shaded octagon?

Does anyone know if having more traditional point cloud shading options are planned?
