Houdini-esque history tree for non destructive editing

I’m coming over from Houdini, and I really love Blender so far. I do think there’s a pretty big limitation though, in that once I use an add-on, such as Edit Tools Multi Extrude, once i’ve used it’s gone.

It would be amazing if both the edit mode and the object mode each had their own history tree, which comprised of a node for each add/function used, which in turn housed all the options associated with that add-on/function.

The reason I thought of it, was because when I used the Edit Tools Multi Extrude add-on, I thought afterwards what a shame it is that there was no way to animate the parameters.
