Hide collection in viewport vs disable collection in viewport

What’s the difference?

If I remember the video from pablo one affect to collections when are appended to other files.

The difference lies in the visibility of Collection Instances. The first one (eye-icon, Viewport Visibility) controls the visibility of the Object in the Viewport. the second one (frame icon) controls the visibility of the object when the collection is being instantiated (Add -> Collection Instance -> Collection name). This is both true for linked as well as local collections. It allows you to mess with visibility while you’re working on the objects themselves as you like, without messing up the instances at the same time, as they could be worked on by another user at the same time.

Thank you for the explanation. Honestly that’s sounds like an advanced/confusing feature. Maybe it should be hidden by default for simple workflows - when templates are introduced.
