Blender 2.8: What's the plans for local and global axis transformation switching?

In Blender 2.79 and older 2.8 alpha’s you could move an object (G) then select a global axis (E.G. X, Y, Z) to transform the object along. If you then press the same axis letter, it’ll switch to that local axis. In the latest Blender 2.8 build (565de7750b9), this feature appears to be missing, with the shortcut for selecting the axis also missing. I was wondering if this was a temporary thing or a permanent thing and would ask the developers to add both these features by the release of Blender 2.8.

While I’m here, I’d also like to ask the developers what their plans are for the “remove doubles” option in edit mode. I’d love to see it put back in the “Mesh Context Menu” (W).

its reverted to work the same as before.

guess one has to come up with a better plan, before this will be touched again.

Thanks for the reply.
