Baking Ambient Occlusion to Vertex Colours in 2.8 like in 2.7 BI?

So 2.7 had a feature that allowed you to bake AO data to vertex colours, but that hasn’t been included in 2.8 as far as I can see. Probably because it was the Blender Internal Renderer that handles that and 2.8 doesn’t have that.

(See: https://blender.stackexchange.com/questions/91204/how-to-bake-ambient-occlusion-into-vertex-colors )

I decided not to put this in RCS because this isn’t asking for a new feature, but rather asking if there are plans to bring back this feature to 2.8. Right now I’m having to jump between Blender and Maya constantly to do this.

Thanks!

I desperately need this for game development. It sucks having to use 2.79 for this function.
