Avoiding full texture upload to the system\GPU memory

Hi there,
Assume blender have no smart LOD (also for textures) or kind of smart mimap solution ,

Given huge 3d blender scene with huge textures and…
the machine fail to render the scene due memory limitations.

What are current good practices in cycles and eevee to Avoid full texture upload to the system\GPU memory ?.

you can use the “simplify” and set the size for the textures in your file for the render or the viewport
