- The workshop notes and blog post from the workshop last week at the Blender HQ are published.
- Top-level instance meshes are supported again in the boolean node, to minimize a breaking change from 4.0.
- Hans made mesh normals deterministic using the topology cache, meaning they give the same result on every recalculation.
- Douglas Paul added support for the Group ID concept in the Fill Curve node.
- Curves editing tools were improved
- Casy Bianco-Davis added support for radius editing tools in curves edit mode.
- Iliya’s code for supporting “Frame Selected” in curves sculpt mode landed.
Meeting Topics
- #114699: Fix #114657: Color attribute from applied GN modifier not active
- There was agreement that the store named attribute node shouldn’t set the active attribute
- Active in the context of geometry nodes doesn’t really make sense
- Setting the “Default” if there is no other color attribute could work though.
- The same logic could eventually apply to UV maps too.
- #114768: Function node support for blackbody shader node
- Seems reasonable! Just needs code review
