Planning for 2022

“Animation 2020” as a large Blender Institute project will be postponed further, because of Covid/Omicron + the need for workshops to get things done at the professional level Blender Institute wants.

Module plans still continue:

  • Christoph: graph editor manipulation operators
  • Kevin: Graph editor improvements
  • Demeter: Mesh-based gizmos
  • Asked for many times by Blender Animation Studio: Bone Picker UI?
  • Asked for many times in the community: Improving parenting workflow & hidden matrices

Other topics

  • Kevin wants to help making more icons for graph editor menus etc. Will make a design task.
  • Brad has looked into UI/UX issues with the NLA editor. He, Sybren, and maybe a few others will soon have a meeting together to come up with nice solutions.

Random bug report

Bassam: auto-keying doesn’t work on camera transforms when the camera is locked to the viewport. He’ll write it down in the tracker.

Next Meeting

The next meeting will be on Thursday 6 January, 18:00 CET/Amsterdam time. Again it will be open for everybody who’s interested. The provisionary meeting agenda will be linked in the #animation-module channel before the meeting.
