Stitch UV Highlight in 2.8x and 2.9x

Why did you remove the highlighting when executing the command as it was in 2.79? How do you now determine which edges will connect?

It happens that it is not at all what I selected it attaches in the same 3d max, everything is clear and you can see how it works.
In 3d max, there is a break command to split the parts right in the uvi editor, now they have sent rip but it does not always cut and you need to move the part, can you make it work without moving?

Found how it works. Highlighting comes only through a command selection from the menu or through a hotkey. If you call it from the context menu, it immediately connects.
Why are the parts not physically stitched into 1 part through the commands Weld and Merage to Distance ? Are they just put on a common top and can they be divided the same way?
In 3D max, the Weld team always makes a single mesh.
