Render Layers names VS Render Passes names


  • Render Layers names not match Render Passes names or have a very abbreviated form.

  • Just compare to the old style where we have “Diffuse Direct” in old blender and “DiffDir” in 2.9.

  • “GlossCol” and “GlossDit” I like most of all…, its “Specular Color” and “Specular Light” respectively.

I agree with AO but other names should be match?
Or I don’t understand something?


Can someone explain why some passes are called in full length and some in short?
And a mess in positions.
Maybe it’s time to corrections in positions and properly names.

I think that is related to display of passes of Render Result, in header of Image Editor.
