[question] show_render vs show_viewport to apply modifiers during export

I wanted to ask if there is a defined default which modifier flag blender exporters are using to apply the modifiers?
It seems to be very hidden that the render flag would be the one used to apply modifiers for exports. I know custom addons can use something else but i was wondering if there was a agreement from the foundation to always use show_render over show_viewport
