Proposal: Add “Security” as a Tag/Category for Add-ons and Extensions

:shield: Proposal: Add “Security” as a Tag or Category for Extensions

This isn’t a feature request or bug report — it’s a categorization suggestion for the Extensions platform. Please let me know if this belongs elsewhere (e.g. GitHub, developer chat, or Blender ID).

I recently created an add-on/extension for auditing text blocks from .blend files and running a brief security scan for suspicious keywords. When submitting this extension, I realized that it doesn’t fully fit in the current categories.

I’d like to propose adding a “Security” tag or category to help surface tools like these and to encourage more development around safe practices in Blender scripting and data workflows. I believe the new addition would benefit the users and prevent misplacement of these tools.

For instance, this extension is under Text Editor and Development, but it doesn’t truly fit in these areas.

Would love to hear thoughts from maintainers or contributors — especially on naming, placement, or if this overlaps with existing tags.

Thanks!
