May be nice but heavy in calculations, if object is a child of a child od a child… (repeat N times) of an object.
ATM modifiers already make too much recalculations and it hits performance.
I think that in that case, it would be comprehensive by user that only few iterations are supported.
There could be a warning in modifier UI explaining that only one parent or two are supported by absolute mode.
And an operator could be complementary for rare cases of long hierarchies.
