GSoC 2023: Shader editor node preview - Weekly Reports

Report Week 2

I’ve been tired a lot this week (insomnias). With the classes still going, I did not had much time to work on node previews this week.

Here are the things I did :

  • start a new render for each previewed node, by running a new wmjob each time
  • recombine things all together in one single job for the shader editor (I’m still on it)

Some areas on which I’m struggling a bit :

  • run multiple render jobs in the background (I have to figure what data I want to have shared between threads)
  • have more control over the render itself (it wont stop rendering)

My last exam is today, I’ll then have fewer class hours each week, letting me have more time for Blender coding.
