GSoC 2022: Many Lights Sampling in Cycles X (Feedback Thread)

Feedback for the light tree/many lights sampling should probably go over in the feedback thread (link) or a bug report should be made. Issues - blender - Blender Projects

Sadly without access to the scene, we are unable to figure out why the fireflies are more common, or if this is expected behaviour or not. Please provide a copy of the scene, or a simplified version of the scene, if possible.

Note: It is expected that the light tree will increase the amount of noise in some scenes. In some cases it is something which can be improved, in other cases it’s a limitation with the light tree approach being used.

This is normal behaviour, rendering with the light tree is expected to be slower as extra calculations are being done.

You could call that noise dandruff; making it more realistic. :smiley:

my .blend file is about 3.5gb so where can I upload it

Simplify it. Remove all assets that are not contributing to the problem. Replace textures with smaller ones or swap them for simple shaders.
