when the light tree is turned on, the background noise and the shirt detail are better, but the fireflies are pretty noticeable. all emission materials were set to “front”, but the fireflies are still the same.

Sadly without access to the scene, we are unable to figure out why the fireflies are more common, or if this is expected behaviour or not. Please provide a copy of the scene, or a simplified version of the scene, if possible.

Note: It is expected that the light tree will increase the amount of noise in some scenes. In some cases it is something which can be improved, in other cases it’s a limitation with the light tree approach being used.

both were rendered on RTX4090 Optix only with 5000 samples and the same light paths setting denoise was off, the left is “light tree off” and took 2:42.09. The right side is “light tree on” and took 3:07.75

This is normal behaviour, rendering with the light tree is expected to be slower as extra calculations are being done.

my .blend file is about 3.5gb so where can I upload it
