EXR single channel workaround?

Hello, is there some sort of workaround to get Quixel single channel .exr files to read until this bug is fixed.


You can open the file in another program and add a G and B channel. The easiest way to do this that I have found is using GIMP.

  1. Download GIMP 2.10.20 and install it.
  2. Open the EXR file in GIMP.
  3. File-> Export As
  4. Give the file a slightly different name so you don’t overwrite the original. Make sure that it ends in .exr

The new file will now work in Blender.

Thanks for suggestion but i know that way or just export with Bridge to casual textures works too. So i assume that current Blender code just do not read them directly at all until it is fixed, right?. I tried to use separate RGB nodes without any result. Current bug just slows down iteration time for me and i just wait until fix arrives.
