Cannot build the latest Blender on windows

Hi there,
I m trying to build Blender on OS windows 8 64bit I m getting some errors I believe is opensubdiv is the problem but don’t quote
here is the log file-> Pasteall/VU6v (Plain Code)

Thanks in advance for the help.

Pushed a fix, sorry about that. The issue went unnoticed since your VS installation (which appears to be 2019 update 4) is a little outdated (2019 update 11 is current) and older than what the bots use.

Plain Code Expires in: 4 weeks, 1 day

It would really be better to paste or attach the error message text directly into this discussion. Otherwise, somebody comes back in 4 weeks and 2 days, and they have no idea what this is about.

It has been the custom to paste elsewhere, to keep the conversation tidy, well, if someone comes later, it has been advised to start a new thread.

It seems like opensubdiv problem is solved and now I m encountering a new one. Here is the Log → Pasteall/dV1j (Plain Text)
Yesterday I tried to update my VS but something was not working properly. I will try again today.
Thanks for your help.

I have updated my VS and still failing to build. Here is the log → Pasteall/784N (Plain Text)
Please @LazyDodo since you are an expert on Windows OS can you advise me a better free antivirus because I m so tired of what Avast is doing, It does slow me down a lot.

41>LINK : fatal error LNK1285: corrupt PDB file 'C:\BlenderDev\cmake_build_28.2\source\creator\Release\blender_private.pdb'; delete and rebuild

seems pretty obvious what it wants you to do?

I have no idea what (free) AV is out there, so I can’t really make any recommendations.

also:
40>cl : command line warning D9025: overriding '/external:W3' with '/external:W0'

if you update your cmake these will go away.

Thanks, I built it
