AMD RDNA 2 Optix equivalent for accelerated rendering

Hello,

I’m just curious if there is any chatter about including some equivalent of Optix acceleration for the new generation of AMD GPUs with hardware ray tracing that are due for release this year.

Any insight is appreciated.

No chatter about it. But rest assured AMD is committed to supporting the Blender community (both with Cycles and Radeon ProRender addon). Stay tuned when the hardware is actually out.

Nice to hear, not a gamer so the main holdup for my choice of the 5700XT over the 2070 super was the enhanced performance offered by the Optix optimizations which tipped the value proposition back in Nvidia’s favour, here’s hoping to see AMD’s flavor
