USD
4.4 Targets
- The scene scaling I/O work has been merged in
main
. - Jesse has been working on a WIP implementation for the Mesh Sequence Cache design, has published a WIP PR, Bastien still need to check it.
- The PR for scene graph instancing export from Micheal is still being worked on, should be ready for review next week.
- Jesse has a PR for the Fix handling of edge crease values in Alembic and USD I/O task. Probably won’t do versioning as a first step, and evaluate how much of an issue this is for users.
- Jesse will have a PR soon for multi-threaded USD import.
- Jesse is working on support for curves in import.
- Jesse created a design task to improve the export support of geometry sets from geometry nodes.
Collection Import/Instancing
- Jesse is working on an initial implementation of the design task for collection import.
- Charles will work with Sergey on the initial experimental Hydra rendering integration.
Other
- UFBX: Aras keeps working on a protoype based on the design task. Everything seems to work, besides animation.
- The test framework discussed last meeting by Aras has been merged in
main
and is now used by new FBX tests, but also for OBJ, PLY and STL import tests.- Could add some form of multi-frame dumping to validate non-trivial animations (implicit animation, drivers, geometry caches, etc.)?
