Notes

  • For 4.3
    • Fix for OSL wavelength node on OptiX is under review
    • Need to gather nice image for the release notes
    • Vega GPUs have a lot of issues, hard to guarantee render quality. The GPUs are not supported by ROCm. The proposal is to remove their support.
  • Other
    • During the conference Lukas started looking into camera lens customization: WIP: Cycles: Support for custom OSL cameras #129495
    • Meeting went into discussion of making OSL faster. No exact plan how to tackle it yet.
    • Carries to the follow-ups of this week: the refractive materials on the point clouds. What is the expected behavior (report)
    • GPU compilation step is often running out of memory. Need to find a way to better “space” builds. There are some ideas how to tackle it.
