Notes

  • The new CPU compositor is in state where developers can work on porting nodes implementation.
    • The simple Image → Output configuration should work
    • Other nodes needs to be adjusted to work
    • Omar is looking into compiling operations to either shader or multi-function
  • Aligning implementation allowed to utilize debugging tools, such as memory leak detection. Some issues has been found, and will be fixed soon.
  • The meeting discussed the Use Alpha setting in the output nodes. It is confusing from user side, and complicates some internal implementation.
    • Current suggestion is to replace Use Alpha and Alpha socket with Set Alpha operation, which has better control on how alpha is actually being modified

This is a fortnightly video chat meeting for planning and discussion of VFX & Video in Blender. Any contributor (developer, UI/UX designer, writer, …) working on these areas in Blender is welcome to join and add proposed items to the agenda.
