Render Audio Progress Meter

PROBLEM
There is no indication that Render Audio is processing. Blender just sits unresponsive for a while until complete.

To test…

  1. Load up large video file (with audio) in the Video Editor (set large end frames to process entire video).
  2. Select Render / Render Audio… from the top menu (the file browser loads).
  3. Enter a filename and click “Mixdown”.

Using 2.81, the file browser will close and Blender will pause while processing audio. There is no indication that it’s working.

Using 2.80, Blender pauses in the file browser until audio processing is complete.

It would be nice to see a progress meter, or spinning cursor to know it’s working.

Thanks

Same problem in Windows 7.
It will show that Blender is “Not Responding” but the audio file actually completes rendering just fine after a couple of minutes.

The Render Audio also only used Core 7 of the CPU to do the work?

Thanks for verifying. Forgot to mention it only uses one core here also (on Linux).

Figured that was due to the type of process (only single thread).
