I notice there’s a flatpak which is cool.
an appimage of 2.8 would be nice as well using these tools it makes it easy to use and update:

Absolutely this. Please Blender Devs, it’s kinda sad that for Windows they get a pretty quick installer file, Mac gets a handy .dmg, and Linux just gets a compressed folder. :<
