Icon Development Guide lines?

HI,
What is the official page on blender icons? size, styles, software people are using.
thanks

See https://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Dev:2.5/Doc/How_to/Add_an_icon and https://developer.blender.org/T53840 this last link as some other links to guidlines and such

Blendify,

Thanks for the info and links. Yes I’ve been there but thought there would be more about 16 virus 32.
Do you know were the 32 size is used in blender?. I don’t see it in the UI as a preference selection between 16-32 or large and small icons. Or is it automatic in the Interface/Display/Scale. Some where in the slider it flips from 16 to 32 as you slide to a bigger scale.

thanks

The 32 size I believe is used when using Thick Line Width. Or it might be after reaching a certain threshold for the Scale property. https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/dev/preferences/interface.html#display

I only see the 16px size lookup table ever referenced in the documentation. In other app’s I’ve always had to build both 16 and 32px, it’s the same for blender, right?

Line Width does not affect icons, but the automatically detected screen DPI and Display Scale do.

Blender icons are created in an SVG file, and then converted to PNG with the blender_icons_update.py script which automatically creates 16px and 32px versions.

brecht, Very interesting, thanks that help me better understand. So scaling up interpolation does less distortion than scaling down. I wish we could start with 32px and they would scale down.

thanks all for your time and knowledge. Mick

The documentation for the Toolbar icons in the wiki, has that been updated?
