Hello all scientific visualization Blender users,
I’ve recently tested the BVTKNodes add-on by Silvano Imboden, Lorenzo Celli and Paul McManus, which allows VTK pipelines to be created in Blender’s node system. See also presentation in Blender Conference. VTK in Blender opens an interesting possibility for scientific data visualization done directly in Blender, without extra export/import steps. Warning: The functionality is very basic, and you need to know what you are doing to make it work, but it does work.
I’ve forked Silvano’s repository under my github account, and I’m gonna start working on upgrading the add-on to Blender 2.8 and latest VTK 8.2.0. Gonna be interesting to see how it will work out.
