Apple M1, Open Shading Language crash

I tried to render the default cube using Cycles, CPU and ticked the Open Shading Language. Blender just closed with no warning.

The appropriate way to document this is to file a bug report via Blender -> Help -> Report a bug

Is it related to this?

No. That issue is with GTX cards and crashing from viewport regardless of OSL.

This OPs issue deals with crashing only with OSL enabled on the ARM version.
