Announcement: Blender Education Badges

Yes, but it probably should be. The current plan doesn’t really make sense

To clarify, the badges are meant to be a common language for schools and educators to use to build their own curriculum. It’s not a learning platform on its own, but we are looking in developing tutorials for each badge which could then be put in a specific learning order.

The Blender Badges is a Reference Framework, not a curriculum. Schools/teachers decide the curriculum.
As described in the post, schools/teachers have different opinions about this. The reference framework is there as a shared standard which allows comparing the different curriculums.

Understood.

In that case, I do think the idea of a ‘Fundamentals’ badge is worth considering, it could include some of the things I mentioned re: workflows, but also more general 3D concepts and vocabulary as a foundation for someone whose introduction to working with CG could come from these badges.

Thanks!

Indeed a good idea.
More general/fundamental badges have been identified. We didn’t have the time to work on those. So if someone wants to pick this up, yes please(!).

I’d like to join you, but I’m a bit confused about the progress and don’t see where I can help at the moment.
