2D Animation images as planes

Error : When i try to import images for references in 2D animation workspace, its shows me nothing, but when i enable the images as planes add-on and try the same it shows a script error.
But works perfectly fine in the modelling and default workspace as images as planes, i don’t know if its a bug.

Question : How to use images (JPG or PNG) format files into 2D animation workspace (2D canvas grease pencil) as references for further workflow in grease pencil ?

This sounds like a bug, script errors should not happen.

For reference images, use Add > Image in the 3D viewport.

i think he means sequance images/movie they don’t work yet in empties or image planes only in the camera’s background images.
